School Visits & Teaching

Connecting with kids is a driving force behind my passion for Kidlit.

School Visits: I’ve visited with schools in person and via Skype. As an approved Microsoft Guest Educator, I participated in World Read Aloud Day by Skyping with schools in Spain and Canada as well as in the U.S.

Teaching: I’m a lead preschool teacher which means I work with my target audience! Creativity is key, as is showing (not telling) how to react to the world in real time. The director calls me “the preschool whisperer” because if I’m with children, we are immediately connected.

More Teaching: I taught After-School-Enrichment classes for K-2 and 3-5, introducing kids to interesting crafts, food-art, paper mache and much more.

And More Teaching: When I volunteered teaching Art Appreciation from K - 5, we’d study a masterpiece before students designed their own interpretations.
